The San Diego Brewers Guild has announced dates for the 6th annual San Diego Beer Week, scheduled to take place across the county from November 7-16, 2014. SDBW, the region’s largest craft brewing event, is a ten-day celebration that encourages people to drink local and support their breweries, while showcasing the continued growth and ingenuity that has secured San Diego’s reputation as the world’s premier craft beer destination. Guild Fest: VIP Brewer Takeover (Official Opening Event)
WHERE: Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier, 1000 N Harbor Dr., San Diego, CA 92101
WHEN: Friday, November 07, 2014, 6 – 9PM
Rub elbows with some of San Diego’s award-winning brewers and see why San Diego beer is taking over palates everywhere. This exclusive event will showcase San Diego’s finest, rare and specialty beers from local breweries, including offerings brewed just for this event. All-inclusive tickets include unlimited beer samples offered throughout the evening, coupled with unlimited food samples from local craft beer-friendly restaurants.

Guild Festival (Official Opening Event)

Enjoy the SD Brewers Guild Festival with a commemorative tasting glass and unlimited beer samples from San Diego County’s finest craft breweries. Attend Beer College with 30-minute sessions from San Diego State University’s College of Extended Studies Business of Craft Beer program, UC San Diego Extension Brewery Certificate program and SoCal Business of Beer. Food will be available for sale from local, craft beerfriendly restaurants and food trucks. In addition, musical entertainment will be provided by some of San Diego’s most talented musicians. Mayor Faulconer will be tapping the ceremonial cask at Guild Fest this year.

Meeting of the Guilds (SDBG event in partnership with the LA and SF Brewers Guilds)

For the first time in San Diego Beer Week history, three California brewers’ guilds will join forces for one giant tap takeover and a friendly craft beer competition. This remarkable event is designed to showcase what these three craft beer-minded regions have to offer.
Guests will get the opportunity to taste a selection of the best craft beers from Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego. Each guild will receive 15 taps and guests can cast their vote for their favorite to see which guild will inherit the prized Golden Keg. A few participating Los Angeles and San Francisco breweries include Golden Road, El Segundo Brewing, King Harbor Brewing, Absolution Brewing, Headlands Brewing Company, 21st Amendment, Almanac Beer Company and Southpaw Brewing.

Bikes, Brews & Brats

Join Green Flash Brewing Co., The Regal Beagle, Cal Coast Cycles and San Diego Mountain Bike Association in the second annual Bikes, Brews & Brats*.
As part of San Diego Beer Week, Green Flash will be leading a Mountain Bike ride from Cal Coast Cycles to The Regal Beagle via a scenic route through Balboa Park & Mission Hills. Upon check in, all riders will be offered tune-ups from Cal Coast Cycles and given a commemorative event T-shirt.
The ride itself is an urban mountain bike ride that will include some pavement as well as single track mountain biking through Florida Canyon and Balboa Park. The trail is beginner to intermediate with a few climbs, as well as some descents.
The day’s events are as follows:

Craft Beer + Bites: SD Beer Week Edition

SILO in Makers Quarter will be hosting the third Craft Beer + Bites for its San Diego Beer Week Edition on Thursday, November 13th, 2014 from 6:00pm to 9:00PM. The event is in collaboration with San Diego State University College of Extended Studies Business of Craft Brewing Program celebration, benefiting the San Diego Brewers Guild.
Enjoy craft beer from 15 local breweries in a custom tasting glass along with grub from some of San Diego’s best food trucks (food sold separately).
Additional indulgences of craft cocktails and wine will be available for purchase from Alchemy Cultural Fare. While you enjoy your local craft beer and delicious food, stay a while and play a few games such as bocce ball, ping-pong, bean-bag toss and life-size flip cup. Enjoy custom tunes from ZB Savoy and Andy Mauser all night long; dancing is encouraged. In addition, there will be live demonstrations of art by some of the best artists in SD and a brewing station with Home Brewers.

Pints & Paddles For A Cause

Splash around and sip good beer for a great cause at this event benefiting Team River Runner, a non-profit that leads wounded veterans to recovery through kayak and paddling programs.
The day kicks off with a two-mile paddle around Mission Bay’s Vacation Isle, launching from the beach near Paradise Point Resort & Spa’s Barefoot Bar & Grill. Participants can bring their own kayak or stand up paddleboard (SUP), or reserve one provided by Aqua Adventures or Action Sport Rentals. At the finish line, paddlers receive a special pint glass to use at Barefoot Bar & Grill’s “Pints For A Cause” After-Party, where the legendary waterfront watering hole will be serving up beer by Ninkasi Brewing, live music by Soul Seduction, SUP demos, and exciting prizes to both paddlers and the public.
