Schlafly Voted Best Midwest Craft Brewery!
In a passionate, fairly close poll conducted last month, The Saint Louis Brewery’s Schlafly Beer has won the Best Midwest Craft Brewery Poll. Coming in second was Great Lakes Brewing, followed by New Glarus in third. All three have quite a lineup, that would make any local beer drinker satisfied and proud. This poll was to promote craft beer love, and local beer pride.
Here are some word from Dan Kopman, VP of The Saint Louis Brewery, and the man who runs the show!
“Thanks to all in StL and elsewhere who voted for Schlafly Beer. Schlafly, like so many other small brewers, is a Local Brewer. Our job is to brew great session beers and yes, some more “extreme” beers, for our local community. For us, local is St. Louis and those great Midwest towns and Cities that are within about 300 miles. The strength of a local brewer is that it is unique to the local community. We believe that beer drinkers want and deserve a great local brewer. If you want to try our beers, come visit St. Louis (or Louisville, Kansas City…). We may not have oceans or mountains but we love to make beer…and we like to throw a party or two!”
Here are some words from from Schlafly:
I also wanted to make sure that you let your readers know not only how much we appreciate their support, but how much respect we have for our fellow Midwest Craft Breweries. These are all great breweries that were featured in this poll and we are honored to be in their company. We are personal friends with a lot of these brewers and we want to thank them as well for everything that they continue to do for beer drinkers and the craft brewing industry as a whole. In regards to the heated competition with Great Lakes Brewing… it definitely could have gone either way and it was intense and awesome. What I have taken away from this is a fierce desire to come visit their brewery!
