A Business Plan Based on Arrogance – Update on Stone’s RFP
Dan’s thoughts on Stone’s Update on Mustardgate and Stone’s RFP for a European Brewery.
Stone Brewing has updated us in another well communicated video as to their recent mustard SCANDAL, as well as how their RFP (Request for Proposal) is going for a Stone Brewery in a European Country. Here are my random thoughts followed by the video that provoked said thoughts.
– Stone should get a team of artisan condiment makers, and keep them in house. At the top of that list should be Mike Palmer, Beer Cheese making Mike Palmer. Ketchup, mustard, bbq sauce, kim chee. I would buy it up just because it is made by Stone </ fanboy>. I know Greg likes to support local businesses, but think of how green it would be to not have to send the beer by fuel to the condiment maker. Besides making sure the cookie crook doesn’t run off with the beer, they can have a firmer grip on the quality of items with their beer in it.
– In regards to Stone’s RFP for a European Brewery, I dig the risk they are taking. As Greg mentions in the video, they weren’t in demand when they started, and don’t need to be in demand to start in Europe. I think it is a big risk, as American is much more Arrogant, or so it seems. We pride ourselves on obnoxious SUV cars, 64 oz. soft drinks, gawdy tatoos, Ultimate Fighting and so on. More moderate cultures might be just content with some pale yellow fizzy lager for a few more generations. I would be very proud of Stone if they could peacefully introduce Arrogant beer into a quieter culture. I’m on the edge of my seat as this one unfolds.
– G Murda’s shout out to Sam, for his new TV show on Discovery — I can totally see Greg, Tomme, Adam Avery, and other higher profile names making a cameo on BREWED. If you recall, Flavor Flav got his spin offs from being on the Surreal Life. I can see the Greg spin off in 2011. You heard it hear first.
