El Segundo Brewing Celebrates Primero Año (1st Anniversary) May 20, 2012
El Segundo Brewing Company sent its first production beers out to initial accounts in May 2011. A year later, we have over 100 draft accounts in Los Angeles and have brewed over 500 barrels. Our production capacity is doubling this June, allowing us to brew the coveted Blue House Citra Pale full-time all summer, at least while the hops permit.
To celebrate our successful first year we are producing our very first Double IPA, “Two 5 Left”. The name “Two 5 Left” references the runway that directs airplanes to take off right over our heads in El Segundo. We always intended to name a beer after this unique El Segundo feature and what a perfect fit. A monster hop bomb with a blend of Simcoe, Citra, and Cascade exploding out of your glass.. one whiff and you may have the sensation of a giant aircraft whooshing over your head. Lean, dry, and bracingly hoppy, as one may expect from this brashly West Coast hop head brewery.
The VIP party runs from 12-2. For $50 you will have access to the entire brewery. Both Tom and Rob will be in the house to answer your questions and for general merriment. Look forward to a running slideshow of our first year’s accomplishments, and possibly a short, and heart wrenching speech from Tom.

The taproom will open for general business from 2 PM – 8 PM. All the beers we have for the VIP session are going to be on tap at 2 PM, but with the limited quantities we have, I cannot say for how long! The entire brewhouse is going to be wide open all day long to accommodate more people, and you can fill your growlers wit our main lineup, as well as Two 5 Left DIPA. Two 5 Left T-shirts and glasses are up for sale, as well as packages including growlers.
Two 5 Left will then be available at premier locations around Los Angeles for a short time.
