Stone 13th Anniversary Ale Info Revealed
TheFullPint.com blogs on the announcement of Stone 13th Anniversary Ale details, announced late last week by Stone Brewing Co. in Escondido, CA.
Hop lovers, Stone Fans, and beer lovers alike can rejoice. Stone Brewing Co. announced late last week they are attempting to outdo themselves, with the release of Stone 13th Anniversary Ale, which sounds like a strong hoppy, aromatic brew by its description.
Stone was met with huge praise over the past few years, as it has celebrated it’s additional year in brewing with a knockout beer. Last year, Stone made a Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, to try something new, and in an effort to create something huge without their famous boatload of hops. This year, there is a claim that 2.5 lbs of hops will be used per barrel, and will possibly be their hoppiest beer to date. That amazes me, as Ruination, Arrogant Bastard and Double Bastard takes it to the limit with IBUS (International Bitterness Units.)
According to Stone Brewing’s Blog, this beer should rival the hoppy greatness levels that Stone 10th Anniversary achieved, and will use a bit of amber and chocolate malt to set it apart from just another big double IPA. This excites me, as I will be more inclined to age a bottle or two, looking for this bad boy to evolve into an interesting barleywine. I encourage you to give this beer a try when it comes out June 29th, as it will probably be a shock to the senses when its fresh, and will take a unique journey as it cools off. As Stone covers more and more area in the US, it should not be too hard for you to find a bottle. I remember not too long ago, when I had to scramble to find bottles of 10th Anniversary Ale, a mere 1.5 hours north of the source.
We would like to hear YOUR feedback on this upcoming beer. Are you as excited as us, or do you have different feelings on the matter. Please use the comment feature below this post, and let us know!
