Yards Poor Richards Tavern Spruce

From Yards Brewing – Initially brewed to commemorate Ben Franklin’s 300th birthday—not to mention his affinity for fine ales—Poor Richard’s Tavern Spruce™ is based on Franklin’s original recipe. It uses spruce tips and molasses as barley and hops were not readily available at the time.

Yards Brewing – Yards Poor Richards Tavern Spruce – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 5% abv.

Appearance: Pours a light brown that lets light through.

Aroma:  Aquafresh, spruce.

Taste: Christmas.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied fizzy.

Overall:  I loved this beer. While this isn’t a holiday themed beer, this beer, to me, captures the holiday season in a bottle better than most of the holiday offerings on the market. Very tasty!
