Widmer Brothers Upheaval IPA
From Widmer Brothers Brewing– Brewed with 6 different hop varieties and 3 different grains, including wheat, Upheaval will be a fitting tribute, not only to the bold Northwest-style IPA, but to Kurt and Rob Widmer’s unapologetic attitude in legacy of innovation.
Widmer Brothers Brewing – Widmer Brothers Upheaval IPA – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 7.1% abv.
Appearance: Pours an amber tinted gold. The body is fairly clear. Not much of a head at all. Quickly after the poor, all that’s left is a micro film of white.
Aroma: A mixture of pine resin and citrus essence. Also a tad floral.
Taste: Abrasive bitter chinook like hops, a citrus twang that pops out after the initial bitter blast, very dry malt. Finishes earthy.
Mouthfeel: Rough, full bodied, modest carbonation.
Overall: A pretty drinkable, great smelling IPA. Widmer has been doing a good job with these IPAs.
