Widmer Brothers Brewing – Widmer Brothers Alchemy Ale – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 5.8% abv.
Appearance: Pours amber gold wuth visible rising carb. Not much in the way of head.
Aroma: Light citrusy hops and some toast.
Taste: Husky sweet malt, nice little hop bite. Tropical and piny. Thankfully the hop bite wins out.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy. Peppery, thin with a little astringency.
Overall: This was ok, but left a lot to be desired. In my case, I could have used a little bit more body and hops, especially if it’s really 5.8%. I can see this beer falling off quick, and I feel bad for both Widmer and or an uneducated customer tries to by this 2-3 months outside of bottling.
