Stone Brewing – Stone 2010 Old Guardian Barley Wine Style Ale Aged in Bourbon Barrels – 500 ml. bottle poured into a goblet. 10.7% abv.

Appearance:  Pours a dull copper with a large tan head.

Aroma: Chewy caramel, dark fruit, dried sweetened coconut, vanilla. Bourbon.

Taste: Bittersweet first sip of malt and hops, the comes the booze. Tons of barrel character. Wood tanins mixing through.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied,creamy.

Overall: Fantastic. The barrel treatment cuts down sweetness and adds new levels of greatness to the beer.
