Smuttynose Wheat Wine Ale

From Smuttynose -Smuttynose Wheat Wine Ale is a unique hybridization of two well-known beer styles, combining the rich, voluptuous taste of a traditional barleywine with the subtle, tart flavors of an American wheat ale, topped off with a healthy dose of crisp, herbaceous hops.

Smuttynose Brewing – Smuttynose Wheat Wine Ale Vintage 2010 – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 12% abv.

Appearance: Pours a vibrant deep amber with a 1/8 inch white film atop.

Aroma: Boozy coconut rum, banana and vanilla.

Taste: Spiced rum, banana creme pie, fruity esters. Very boozy.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with modest carbonation.

Overall: Very tasty, but could use a bit of time to mellow and cool off.
