Smuttynose Brewing – Smuttynose Big A IPA – 12 oz. bottle poured into an imperial pint glass. – 9.7% abv.

Appearance: Pours a very cloudy amber gold with a dense fluffy off white head that retains quite well.

Aroma: Citrus, sweet malt and pine.

Taste: Big bitter hops, fruity sweetness, candied grapefruit. Finishes spicy, sweet and bitter.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, sticky. Prickly carbonation.

Overall: Very hoppy, fairly malty, very solid and enjoyable. It also didn’t drink like a nearly 10% beer, partially because it didn’t and partially because I love hops.
