Sierra Nevada Brewing – Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary: Our Brewers Reserve – Grand Cru – 750 ml bottle poured into a goblet. 9.2% abv. Purchased at Beverages and More Pasadena, CA.

Appearance: Pours a vibrant dark amber with a pillowy beige head that retains throughout the session.

Aroma: Gigantic grassy hops, spicy malt, alcohol.

Taste: Burnt caramel, big bitter hops. Finishes very warm and bitter, and that sits on my tongue well after the sip.

Mouthfeel: A less thick version of Bigfoot, full bodied with modest creamy carbonation.

Overall: A uniquely familiar beer from Sierra Nevada. It completely hit its mark, very tasty, very bitter. I’m saving one bottle of this, and I’m not sure what to expect, but I’m going to hold on to it for a while.
