Russian River Mortification

Russian River Brewing – Russian River Mortification – On tap at the 2011 San Diego Strong Ale Festival. 11% abv.

Appearance: Pours a deep translucent dark amber with a thin film of white swirls.

Aroma: Toasted malt, dark fruit and flowers or floral perfume.

Taste: Burnt sugar, dark fruit, bitter hops.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied with lively carbonation.

Overall: I was expecting this would be sweeter than it was.  I like a stickier sweeter quadruple. Still very solid, and something I’d love to see bottled for keepsake.
