Review – Zywiec
Zywiec
5.6% abv
Poured from a 550ml bottle into a chilled pint glass.
Appearance
Very light in color with shades of yellow, gold and very pale orange. The beer is crystal clear with only about one finger of head and almost no lace.
Aroma
Peculiar smells including the overpowering Pilsen malt and the Polish hops used. I had a hard time picking out the smells because it is very mild.
Taste
Crisp and bitter. This lager goes down smooth but has a very unique taste. I could not think of a beer that closely resembles Zywiec, even though I tried very hard. In some ways, this beer is like traditional pale lagers in its drink ability and clean taste.
Mouthfeel
Very tangy and a little sour. Good carbonation even though it did not appear to the eyes.
Overall
A good friend of mine asked me to try this beer because his cousin is Polish and Zywiec is one of his favorites. Unfortunately, I bought a bottle and someone drank it before I had a chance to sample. Last week I bought another and have to admit that it was pretty good. Although I prefer ales to lagers, this lager was crisp and very refined.

I bought a 6-pack for my family reunion in October and I agree with your comments. My aunt told me it’s pronounced zyeh-VEE-chay.

I love this stuff! They give you more for a great price at Costco, it’s better than Modelo, and forget about Stella 11.2
