Review – Great Divide Oak Aged Yeti
From Great Divide Brewing Co. – Oaked Aged Yeti is Yeti Imperial Stout’s sophisticated sibling. They may be from the same clan, but they have entirely different personalities. Oak aging gives a subtle vanilla character, rounding out Yeti’s intense roastiness and huge hoppy nature. Who says you can’t tame a Yeti?
Great Divide Brewing Co. – Oak Aged Yeti – 22 oz. bottle poured into my New Belgium beer glass. 9.5% abv. From Matt in Georgia!
Appearance: Pours a jet black with a large foamy tan head.
Aroma: Milk chocolate, cappuccino, and a little bit of wood.
Taste: Chocolate, oak, and roasted malts.
Mouthfeel: Thick and creamy.
Overall: A very big, yet balanced Imperial. The oak and chocolate are in harmony in this beer, and I was mighty impressed.
