Review – Full Sail Grandsun of Spot IPA
From Full Sail Brewing – Full Sail’s summer “sun” series began with Sunspot back in 2001. Over the years the brewery has had some fun with the evolution of the beer and the name. First it was Sunspot, then Son of Spot, Prodigal Sun and this year it’s called the Grandsun of Spot.
Full Sail Brewing – Grandsun of Spot IPA – 22 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 6% abv.
Appearance: Pours a clear copper with a soapy white 1/4 inch layer of head. Plenty of visible active carbonation.
Aroma: Flowers, perfume, citrus and a touch of pine.
Taste: Lots of citrus, a touch of sweetness, and metallic bitter hops. Finishes really bitter and floral.
Mouthfeel: Thin and juicy.
Overall: A very aromatic, bitter IPA. You will become quite acquainted with these hops after this beer. I like it better than Slipnot Imperial IPA.
