Review – Founders Backwoods Bastard

From TFP: I have found there are many more beers made by Founders, than what they list on their website. Needless to say, the residents of Michigan have many choices from Founders. Very lucky people indeed.

Founders Brewing – Backwoods Bastard – A Bourbon Barrel Aged Scotch Ale. – 12 oz bottle poured into my New Belgium glass. 10.2% abv.

Appearance: A dark auburn that lets almost no light through. Atop is a 1/2 inch tight knit head.

Aroma: Bourbon, vanilla, and chocolate.

Taste: Vanilla, chocolate, and a nice bit of oak.

Mouthfeel: A bit on the thin side and perfectly carbonated.

Overall: A wonderful beer, that may go down too quick because of how easy it is to drink.
