Review – Black Hart Irish Style Dry Stout

From TFP: Black Hart Irish Style Dry Stout is another great find at Trader Joe’s market. This beer is brewed exclusively by North Coast Brewing for their market’s beer selection.

North Coast Brewing – Black Hart Irish Style Dry Stout – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 5.5% abv. Purchased at Trader Joe’s in Monrovia, CA.

Appearance: Pours a midnight brown with a 1/2 inch dense foamy head.

Aroma: Roasted malts that feature aromas of bread, chocolate, and a medium roasted coffee bean.

Taste: Bready malt, some dark chocolate, and a small hop spice.

Mouthfeel: I was expecting this to be not so carbonated, but it has a nice fizzy mouthfeel to it.

Overall: A well made, flavorful stout. I enjoy this with some pretzels, or even by itself. Another great find at Trader Joe’s. I am glad some of the best craft brewers are lending a few tanks to some private label beer.
