Ninkasi Imperiale
From Ninkasi Brewing – Rich, full bodied and surprisingly smooth, Imperiale Stout has a big roast hit up front, and rich, dark malt flavors balanced with ample hop bitterness to finish.
Ninkiasi Brewing – Ninkasi Imperiale – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 9.1% abv.
Appearance: Pours dark brown with a thin tan film atop.
Aroma: chocolate like malt, herbal hops, anise.
Taste: Bitter chocolate-like roast, spicy herbal hops, black dark roast coffee, semi sweet chocolate. Lingers.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied lively carbonation.
Overall: One of the most smooth Imperial Stouts I’ve ever had. Not that I mind an impy with some sharp bitterness and sharp roast, this was a pleasant change of pace for me. Solid offering.
