The mystery began with wild yeast spontaneously fermenting a rich treasure of malted barley and cherries. Unlined Oak casks breathe deep vanilla hues and chords of smoke into this sour brown ale. Our Master Brewer has forged a smooth garnet tapestry that defies description. Wander off the beaten path.

New Glarus Brewing – New Glarus Thumbprint Series Enigma – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 5.5% abv.

Appearance:  Pours a clear bright amber wtih a line of micro bubbles around the top.  Attempted to create some head action with a few swirls with no luck.

Aroma: Sweet and sour cherry.Oaky wine barrel.

Taste: Cherry, cherry pit, oak, a slight metallic note, toasty malt. Modestest tartness.

Mouthfeel: Juicy, medium bodied, smooth, modest carbonation.
