From Mikkeller – Nelson Sauvin Single Hop IPA is made with the New Zealand hops, Nelson Sauvin. This single hop IPA has a refreshing wine-like flavour.
Mikkeller – Mikkeller Single Hop Nelson Sauvin IPA – 11.2 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 6.9% abv. Purchased at Whole Foods Market Pasadena, CA
Appearance: Pours a dark amber orange with a pillowy tan head.
Aroma: Peaches, dank, tangerine and candy like and spicy malt.
Taste: Sharp piny bitterness, followed by an explosion of citrus: sweet juicy orange and grapefruit. This is held together by spicy toffee notes finishing beautifully bitter.
Mouthfeel: Juicy with spicy prickles.
Overall: I had my guard up, with a $6.00 12 oz. IPA, but I am amazed at how great this IPA is. It is safe to say I enjoy the Nelson Sauvin hop.
