Appearance
Cross between a warm reddish brown and a mellow golden amber. Nice head retention with almost two inches of cream-colored foam.
Aroma
Not much hop smell but a balanced malt profile with essences of nuts and fresh bread. If you look hard, you can smell the unmistakable Cascade hops.
Taste
Absolutely perfection in a bottle. The sweetness from the Munich and Caramel malts had me begging for more. The bitterness from the hops, although difficult to smell, is profound in taste.
Mouthfeel
A tad on the lighter side for this style. I was expecting something a little heavier. Easy to drink with an average amount of carbonation.
Overall
My good friend John stopped by the other night and gave this beer to me. I was not at all shocked at how good it was because Leinie has been one of my fav’s for some time now. I wish he would have had more than two because I could have easily downed several more that night. I am just a sucker for Marzen-style beers.
