Lagunitas Daytime
From Lagunitas – Sometimes you want a beer, then you realize how much crap you need to do before you call it a day. This is it. Nicely dosed with Big, Round Hop Flavors and a Toasty Malt Foundation to satisfy your every need. But it still lets you stay in the game to do what needs to be done. Yup.
Lagunitas Brewing – Lagunitas Datyime (A Fractional IPA) – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 4.65% abv.
Appearance: Pours a straw gold with a modest soapy cap of white foam. Holding it up to the light, you will notice some very active rising bubbles in the clear body.
Aroma: Beautiful big citrusy danky nose, fresh grass. Pretty close to opening a pack of hop pellets. Some candied orange too as it warms.
Taste: A punch of citrusy hops, very dry pale malt, a little earthy hop bitterness that finishes very clean. Medium duration for the lingering hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Thin and on the high side in terms of carbonation.
Overall: Amazingly tasty and drinkable. A beer this small can show some flaws, and I’m glad to report there are none. Could be my favorite “style” of pale with this, Mission St Pale, Ballast Point Even Keel, Drakes Alpha Session, etc.
