Jolly Pumpkin Oro de Calabaza
From Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales – Brewed in the Franco-Belgian tradition of strong golden ales. Spicy and peppery with a gentle hop bouquet and the beguiling influence of wild yeast.
Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales – Oro de Calabaza – 750 ml bottle poured into a goblet. 8% alcohol. Purchased at A & J Liquor in Covina, CA.
Appearance: Pours a bright yellow gold with a retaining, yet small white head.
Aroma: Sour citrus and berry notes and a tad bit of woodiness.
Taste: A soury, woody flavor, some earthy, dirty hops, grape skin. Finishes oaky and citrusy.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and slightly puckering.
Overall: This was highly enjoyable for me. It was a complex yet balanced sour.

I love this beer. Love all JP beer, though. I’ll be making the trip up to Dexter, MI this fall to hopefully get some Perseguidor.
