Hoppin’ Frog Barrel Aged Frosted Frog (Vintage 2011)
From Hoppin’ Frog – This is a very special Christmas beer, with a lively 8.6% abv and a great oak / Bourbon character from the barrel aging that perfectly compliment the Christmas spices in the beer.
Hoppin’ Frog Brewery – Hoppin’ Frog Barrel Aged Frosted Frog – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 8.6% abv. 2011 Vintage.
Appearance: Pours a deep dark ruby with only a white ring for head. Leaves spotty lacing.
Aroma: Ginger ,cinnamon ,nutmeg and sugar.
Taste: Cinnamon, wood and sugar cookie. A little hop spice, but otherwise malty.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied, sticky.
Overall: A fantastic Wintertime festive beer. Sticky, oaky,Christmasy. I’d like to have this again, side by side with the untreated version.
