Half Acre Marty Stouffer’s Wild America
From Half Acre – As a brewery this is our first “tribute beer.” A beer brewed specifically to pay homage to someone or something that we feel lent an interesting twist to life. With that we give you Marty Stouffer’s Wild America, a barley wine in honor of wild life’s quintessential badass.
Half Acre Brewing – Half Acre Marty Stouffer’s Wild America – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 10% abv. From Bobby “The Fire” Sullivan at DLD2011
Appearance: Pours a dark orange with a quickly subsided head and no lace left behind.
Aroma: Peaches and spicy sweet malt.
Taste: Super bitter hops and grapefruit held together by some sticky, moderately sweet malt. You will notice the alcohol, but it’s not out of control.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with modest carbonation.
Overall: A nice hoppy barleywine, blurring the lines between it and a double IPA. Very enjoyable, I wouldn’t bother aging this, I’d drink it now.
