Goose Island Bourbon County Vanilla Stout
From Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Stout spiced with fresh vanilla beans.
Goose Island – Goose Island Bourbon County Vanilla Stout – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 13% abv.
Appearance: Pours a viscous dark brown with a tan micro film.
Aroma: Bourbon, chocolate and caramel.
Taste: Chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, burnt sugar. Finishes boozy.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied sticky.
Overall: As tasty as the original rendition of Bourbon County Stout. Honestly, I might not be able to pick it out in a blind tasting next to the original. This bottle was over a year old, so if there was more pronounced Vanilla when it was fresh, it faded into the monstrous chocolatey booziness of BCS, which has plenty of caramel and vanilla character in its own right.
