Founders Dirty Bastard
From Founders Brewing – So good it’s almost wrong. Dark ruby in color and brewed with seven varieties of imported malts. Complex in finish, with hints of smoke and peat, paired with a malty richness and a right hook of hop power to give it the bad attitude that a beer named Dirty Bastard has to live up to. Ain’t for the wee lads.
Founders Brewing – Founders Dirty Bastard – 12 oz. can poured into a goblet. – 8.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours a deep dark amber brown. Only an offwhite ring around the edge.
Aroma: Concentrated grape juice fruitiness, pipe tobacco, lemon/iced tea, brown bread.
Taste: Toasty malt, burnt sugar, spicy hops. Finishes with a burnt toast. Mixture of fruity American hops and spicy Euro like hops. A touch of perceived alcohol.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Perfect carbonation, right down the middle.
Overall: I tried this ale years ago, from bottle and was very impressed. Having this fairly fresh from a can was even more tasty and enjoyable. This is a very bold delicious malty beer.
