Firestone Walker Hefeweizen
One of many reasons to visit Firestone Walker at their brewery or one of their restaurants, is to have the chance to try some house beers that never get distributed. One of those beers is Firestone Walker Hefeweizen.
Firestone Walker – Firestone Walker Hefeweizen – On tap at The Tap Room in Buellton, CA (Fall 2010) – 4.7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber gold with a swirly soapy head.
Aroma: Big clove, modest banana, sweet grain, spicy yeast.
Taste: Spicy yeast, husky grain, modest herbal hops and a yeasty finish that reminded me of pencil shavings.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, creamy.
Overall: I like Mission Street far better, I get softer spice and more citrus than this guy. This was close to a Belgian wit in my opinion.
