Epic Hop Syndrome Lager
From Epic Brewing – This wonderful hoppy lager is a new addition to our ever-expanding Exponential (Seasonal) Series. The Crystal hops give it a clean spice while the Calypso hops give it a pleasant, almost fruity aroma. Easy to drink, perfect for a summer day out.
Epic Brewing (Utah)- Epic Hop Syndrome Lager – 22 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass – 5.1% abv.
Appearance: Pours a hazy yellow gold. Visible rising bubbles, creamy thin cap of white froth. Leaves a good deal of lacing.
Aroma: Unmistakable yellow beer/pilsner aroma a little skunky and wet grainy. Bright grassy hops.
Taste: Dry pilsner malt. Bitter earthy hops. Finishes mostly dry with a sour twang.
Mouthfeel: Thin with modest carbonation.
Overall: A solid, clean drinking lager. I’m not sure if I would have broken out the ‘hop pun’ on this lager, as the hops weren’t really in the forefront during my encounter with this beer.
