Dogfish Head Olde School Barleywine
From Dogfish Head – At 15% abv, this beer is a great candidate for ageing. Over time, the beer dries out and the pit fruit flavors come forward and the hops recede. Our recommendation? Grab a few bottles when you find it – enjoy one now, and age the others for a bit. Let us know which you prefer!
Dogfish Head – Olde School Barleywine – 12 oz. bottle poured into a goblet 15% abv.
Appearance: Pours a clear orange amber with a thin white filmy head.
Aroma: Grapefruit, orange, spicy malt, pine and booze.
Taste: Booze, brown sugar, oranges, pine, and rock sugar.
Mouthfeel: Sticky.
Overall: A sipper that is sweeter than I remember it. This beer is a hair maltier than 120 Minute IPA. I split this bottle and got real toasty.
