De Proef and Bell’s Brewmaster Collaboration – Van Twee Belgian Ale – Dark Belgian Ale Brewed with Cherry Juice. – Poured into a goblet. 7.5% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark maroon brown. Has a smell head with visible rising bubbles.
Aroma: Cherry Coke, cough syrup, chocolate and funk.
Taste: Dark chocolate, black coffee, cherry puree.
Mouthfeel: Chalky and thick. I put a lot of weird things in my mouth as a child, and I associate a flavor/mouthfeel of this beer to something chalky. Maybe a liquid medicine described as chalky.
Overall: Lot of F’s. Fun, fruity, funky, flavorful. This beer was tucked into the middle a strong ale tasting, but it stood out amongst the crowd.
