Clown Shoes Pecan Pie Porter
From Clown Shoes – The beer was designed to fit in with the things that make Thanksgiving special–warmth, aroma, comfort, and pleasure. The nose is reflective of a freshly baked Pecan Pie, complete with hints of butter, cocoa, and a distinct nuttiness that resonates throughout.
Clown Shoes Beer – Clown Shoes Pecan Pie Porter – 22 oz. bottle poured into a goblet. 7% abv.
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with no head, and a few sparse swirls looking down at the glass.
Aroma: Butterscotch, pralines, strawberry candy with the gooey stuff in the middle.
Taste: Candied pecan, strawberry candy with the gooey stuff in the middle. Slight roast and bitterness as well in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, modest carbonation.
Overall: A dessert beer that you need to sip slowly. It didn’t come across like a traditional porter in flavor or body, and would be best served alongside pie. I believe it would be best shared amongst some friends, as it really striked up conversation the minute we cracked the brew.
