Cigar City Imperial Milk Porter – Stranahan’s Whiskey Barrel Aged

From Cigar City Brewing – So, what you have here is a high gravity porter brewed with lactose and aged in whiskey barrels. It tastes like catching your favorite song on the radio with hints of the parking meter expiring, but not getting a ticket. It’s good.

Cigar City Brewing – Cigar City Imperial Milk Porter Aged in Stranahan’s Whiskey Barrels – 750 ml. poured into a goblet. 9% abv.

Appearance:  Pours a dark brown with tan edges.

Aroma: Milk chocolate, roast,caramel, sweet bourbon.

Taste:  Chocolate, caramel, roast. Wood, whiskey finish.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Creamy with perfect level of carbonation.

Overall: Cigar City is my go too for the big decadent stouts and porters. This isn’t their number one hit in that group, but it’s very close.
