Cascade Kriek Ale
From Cascade Brewing – Brewed with 4 types of cherries, aged in oak for one year. Cascade Kriek Ale spends over 6 months of lactic fermentation and aging in small oak barrels. This “Belgian Flanders Style Red Ale” is refermented with a blend of fresh whole Northwest cherries and then hand bottled.
Cascade Brewing – Cascade Kriek Ale – Vintage 2007 Enjoyed in 2011 – 750 ml. bottle poured into a goblet. Thanks Stoad.
Appearance: Pours a deep reddish translucent brown with a subsided off white head.
Aroma: Sour and sweet cherry. Very real, not car air freshener like at all.
Taste: Super sour cherry and bitter, tart pit.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with modest lively carbonation.
Overall: Very tasty, and great levels of believable cherry.
