Caldera Ashland Amber Ale
From Caldera Brewing – A crisp, refreshing amber. Simplicity is the key to this recipe.
Caldera Brewing – Caldera Ashland Amber Ale – 12 oz. can poured into a goblet. 5.6% abv. From Total Wine in Brea, CA
Appearance: Pours a very hazy amber with a small head that subsides to a tan film.
Aroma: Grapefruit rind, pine, floral notes, hops and rock sugar.
Taste: Caramel malt, a quick zap of citrus, finishing slightly bready and hoppy.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied, sticky, average carbonation.
Overall: An above average amber. I prefer Caldera’s IPA to this.

I reviewed this one for the show and was very disappointed. It had very little flavor. There was virtually nothing there. I was even more disappointed when I saw the price. Where I saw it it was going for 9.99 a six pack. There are much better amber ales out there at that price. Hanger 24’s alt-beer is much better and I found it for 7.99 a six pack.
Cheers!
