Alpine Great

From Alpine Beer Co. – An “Alpine Style” Barleywine aged 12 months in select bourbon barrels.

Alpine Beer Co. – Alpine Great Vintage 2009 – Enjoyed December 2010 On tap. 15% abv.

Appearance: Viscous iced tea brown with no head.

Aroma: Tropical fruit, dried coconut, pineapple, mango covered with powdered sugar. Brown sugar and alcohol.

Taste: Maple syrup, chocolate fudge, caramel, raisins and wood.

Mouthfeel: Goopy as hell. Low carbonation.

Overall:  An amazing dessert like barleywine. I really enjoyed this for what it was.
