Abita Lemon Wheat
From Abita Brewing – Abita Lemon Wheat is a crisp, refreshing beer made with lemon peel for a fresh citrus taste and aroma. This unfiltered brew has a hazy, golden color and it made with lager and wheat malts. Centennial hops and Biere de Garde yeast.
Abita Brewing – Abita Lemon Wheat – 12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. 4.4% abv.
Appearance: Pours a hazy pastel yellow with a white fluffy head that slowly subsides to a 1/8 cap.
Aroma: From a few feet away, you will immediately intake lemon zest. As I get closer, I get the classic wheat ale aromas such as bread dough, banana, but honestly, the lemon peel is the most dominate.
Taste: Lemon essence/zest, bready, low spicy hops. Finishes very quickly, leaving no aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Deceptively thin. Fizzy carbonation.
Overall: The lemon was in your face from an aroma standpoint. Dare I say this would be a good candidate for beginners, those who don’t really like beer, or girls.
