River North Quad on Oak

From River North Brewery – For this beer, River North’s brewers crafted a traditional Abbey-style Belgian Strong Dark Ale, then aged it on toasted American oak. Wood-aging lends dry notes of vanilla and coconut, providing a perfect balance to the rich, malty base of a Quadrupel.

Appearance:  Pours dark amber with a thin khaki head.

Aroma:  Booze, oak, dark fruit, caramel, toast.

Taste:  Toast, cola, oak, booze, dark fruit.

Mouthfeel:  Full bodied. Peppery carbonation.

Overall: Another tasty quad from River North. In the same way some breweries get pegged as IPA houses, River North really nails their quads.
