River North Barrel Reserve 2014 Release Party Memorial Weekend
(Denver,CO) – Once a year, River North Brewery releases a special blended barrel-aged concoction, giving their brewers the opportunity to flex their creative muscle. Each vintage is a unique blend, never repeated.
This year’s version, Barrel Reserve 2014, will debut on Saturday, May 24th at 1pm in the River North taproom.
Barrel Reserve 2014 blends three River North beers aged in a combination of sherry, wine and whiskey barrels. The result melds the malt sweetness of traditional Belgian styles with dry wine notes and a kiss of oak.
“Barrel Reserve is our chance to play around with some exotic blends,” Head Brewer Matt Hess said. “It’s a chance to show off what we can do with some unorthodox, but delicious, barrel combinations.”
River North will have Barrel Reserve 2014 on tap and in bottles throughout Memorial Day weekend. Bombers will cost $15 with a 4-bottle limit, with the remainder appearing on store shelves throughout Colorado the following week.
They will also release a limited amount of Barrel Reserve 2013 on tap and in bottles, starting at 1pm Saturday the 24th. The brewery expects these to sell out quickly.
Matt and Jessica Hess opened the award-winning River North Brewery in February 2012. Brewing in the RiNo district of Denver, River North focuses on yeast-centric beers with Belgian-style flair.
