New Belgium La Folie Named Best American Made Sour
Late last month, we ran one of our famous Best of Polls asking you what’s the Best American Made Sour. While the sour beer craze is new to some of you, folks like New Belgium, Russian River, Lost Abbey and The Bruery have been at the forefront of the American Sour Ale movement for a handful of years now, helping make this as popular as it is today.
There were plenty of “winners” on our nominated list, New Belgium Brewing La Folie came out triumphant in this years poll. Taking a closer look, the top four finalists of the poll were all unique to each other, yet all were red sours if you are looking for a trend. One beer that caught my interest was Rivertown Lambic, a beer I had not heard of until this poll. Anyway, all this has me mighty thirsty, so I’d like to encourage you to seek out some, if not all of these beers that you haven’t tried yet. Here are some kind words from New Belgium Brewing, brewers of La Folie, The Best American Made Sour Beer.
Thank you so much! La Folie getting the vote for best American Made Sour is a totally awesome thing. Thank you TheFullPint.com for hosting, and posing the question to the people. And a huge thank you to the readers and fans for voting. It’s great to see so many sours coming up, and wonderful to be part of such rich times in American Craft Beer. So again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you, and three cheers for sour beers!
