Nectar Ales to Release Black Xantus
Paso Robles, CA – TheFullPint.com has learned that Nectar Ales, a label of Firestone Walker Brewing Company is set to release Black Xantus this October.
Black refers to the color of the beer and Xantus’ is a genus of Humming Bird that lives in Mexico and Southern California.
The Black Xantus’ is a mythical beast I dreamt up that is the Humming Bird equivalent to Sasquatch. Rarely seen, he is a giant black humming bird that feeds on the fruit of the coffee plant. He is the size of an eagle, yet is rarely seen by human eyes. It is rumored that if one hangs a Bourbon barrel in a tree, in a secluded part of the Mexican Coffee growing region jungle, you might get a glimpse of one as he attempts to suck the nectar from the barrel. You see, the Black Xantus’ has a Bourbon tooth.
This beer honors the Black Xantus- it is a coffee infused, Bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout! About 500 cases of 22 oz. bottles are expected to be produced, as well as a small allotment of firkins. This beer should be found wherever Nectar Ales is sold.
