Mike Hinkley of Green Flash Brewing Addresses Sale Rumors Again
(San Diego,CA) – After the the acquisition of Saint Archer Brewing by MillerCoors this summer and loss of Brewmaster Chuck Silva, we reached out to Green Flash Brewing Owner/CEO Mike Hinkley regarding rumors of them being the next ones to be sold. Mike made a statement clearly expressing his desire to stay independent. With the recent acquisition of Ballast Point by Constellation Brands, craft beer pundits began pointing the finger at another rapidly expanding San Diego craft staple. Mike Hinkley took to Facebook this evening to get a little off of his mind regarding the repeated question as to whether he will be the next to sell.
“GREEN FLASH IS NOT FOR SALE.
Green Flash will remain 100% independent – owned by our family, friends, and key employees. We can’t buy ingredients and packaging as cheaply as Bud, Coors, Heineken, Corona, or their new crafty acquisitions. We don’t have the corporate sales and marketing power of those giants to help us grow. The good news is that we don’t have to provide Wall Street with giant returns on hundreds of millions or billions invested. We just need to run a smart and stable company that is built to last. Our best chance is to brew wonderful beer and be a great place to work. We are committed to just that, all day, every day.
To all of you who drink and support Green Flash and Alpine, thank you very, very much.”
