Maui Brewing – New Beer Run Down
Maui Brewing Company has been leaving a quiet trail of new beers around Southern California.
Here is a brief run down of them with a bit more detail than what we had last week.
Maui Brewing Heaven In Hell – Stone Brewing is holding a two day event for their 14th Anniversary Celebration. New to this year, is Lucifer’s Angel Barley wine aged in Heaven Hill Whiskey barrels. The beer clocks in at 11%, and was first spotted on the main land at the 2010 Oregon Brewers Festival. Right now, it is expected to stay at limited quantity and on tap.
Maui Brewing Cruiser Organic Pale Ale – Another beer that will be at Stone 14th Anniversary, it is an organic pale ale starts with a copper hue that leads to a nice malt profile followed by floral hop character and subtle hop bitterness. This one is sure to please the hop lover in all of us. It clocks in at 5.1%, with 50 IBUs, using Cascade and Centennial Hops. There are no immediate plans to can this beer, although it is rumored to be the jumping off point for an upcoming “Cruiser Series.”
Maui Brewing Ode to Carol – This Belgian Style Golden Ale is making it’s main land debut at Hamilton’s Tavern in San Diego tonight. Ode to Carol is a special beer brewed by Brewmaster Scott Freitas for his wife on their Anniversary. It gets its aroma from Sazz hops and Ardennes Belgian Yeast. It clocks in at 6.4% abv with 28 IBUs.

I would LOVE to try something….anything from Maui brewing. Especially since they can their beers!
Any idea on whether or not they’ll ever start distributing any further inland…say to Texas? 🙂
