Jonas Nemura Leaves Longtime Post at The Bruery for Chapman Crafted

Yesterday, we saw that Chapman Crafted in Orange, CA announced the newest member of their team. Longtime employee of The Bruery, Jonas Nemura left his post as Sr. Director of Operations to join the two year old brewery as their newest Director of Operations.

While The Bruery is positioning themselves for the next chapter with a near-nationwide presence, Chapman Crafted has been slowly expanding and likely needs the brain power from a vet who has worked at a considerably larger operation.

We reached out to both The Bruery and Jonas to get word on this very significant departure and career move.

Patrick Rue, owner/founder of The Bruery had this to say: “Our friend Jonas moved over to Chapman a few weeks ago.  I greatly appreciate the many contributions Jonas made during his 9+ years at The Bruery, and I know he’s going to do amazing things at Chapman Crafted.”

We also reached out to Jonas for comment, he had this to say: “After 10 years, it was time for a change, and I wanted to get back to something more locally-focused.  I left on good terms and still have love & respect for The Bruery’s people & beer. In regards to his role with the young and expanding Chapman Crafted: “My role is basically to help build more structure into the business, specifically in terms of product planning, compliance, and sales & distribution strategy.  The Chapman Crafted team has been making fantastic beer since day one, and we’re currently selling all we can brew.  As production begins to expand (as of this week, we will have increased capacity 60% over the past two months), we want to make sure the tools are in place to build upon the success the team has created so far.  That said, we’re looking for measured growth and want to remain a local, community-focused business.”

We’ll be keeping an eye on Chapman Crafted, which has been doing Southern California draft distro and more recently doing small runs of cans as they take their next logical steps in expansion.
