Idle Hands Craft Ales Releases Cotton for 2nd Anniversary
It’s been a crazy two years as the anniversary of our first ever Idle Hands brew day (August 29th) is upon us. So what does a brewery do to celebrate their second anniversary? Well, we brew a special beer of course!
ANNOUNCING: COTTON – 2nd Anniversary Hoppy, Wheat Saison
We went out on a limb this year and brewed a beer for the hop heads loading it with what can only be described as a wonderful juicy hop character. And not just any hops — we sexed it up with wonderfully aromatic hops such as Amarillo, Mosaic and Sorachi Ace and layered it over a base of Pilsner malt, wheat and a good portion of local malts (including spelt and rye) provided by our friends at Valley Malt. The end result is something to behold. Beautiful aromas of tropical fruit, apricot, peach and lemon sit on top of a nice bready wheat character with just a touch of the rye complimenting the earthy and spicy flavors of the saison yeast. Clocking in at 5.4% ABV, you can drink this till the cows come home while still getting your hops fix on!
This beer wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our friends over at Jack’s Abby who made getting the hops possible. So raise a glass (or two) of Cotton and thank them!
Cotton will go on tap at the brewery for growler fills starting Thursday (TODAY) and we’ll be sending out kegs to various accounts soon afterwards. We’ll also be bringing it to the MA Brewers Fest on Friday, August 30. If you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for?
MORE REASON TO CELEBRATE
And if Cotton isn’t enough to celebrate with, we’re planning an open house/2nd Anniversary party at the brewery on Friday, September 20. Now that we’re nearly complete with our expansion, we want to show off our shiny new equipment to the world (ok, maybe only a couple hundred of our loyal fans). Stay tuned for details but we’ll be opening the doors, marching out the kegs and corn compostable cups for a fun evening of beer, music and food. Mark your calendars, you don’t want to miss this!
Cheers!
