Almanac Devil’s Advocate – This blended sour ale is brewed with aromatic Mosaic hops and fermented warm with Brettanomyces yeasts, then soured in wine barrels. Right before bottling, it’s dry hopped with Nelson hops to create an aromatic yet sour ale that embraces both our love of farmhouse funk and topical hop aromas of passionfruit and mango. Devil’s Advocate is a delicious contradiction of both flavor and style. ABV: 7%
Stone Brewing Co. Winter Harvest – Winter Harvest is Belgian-style golden ale aged for 2 years in Sauvignon Blanc barrels, and brewed with Merlot grapes. Winter Harvest is an off-dry ale with pleasing levels of malt and tart fruit, especially tropical fruit flavors: guave from the Merlot grapes and pineapple from the Sauvignon Blanc barrels.
Cascade Manhattan NW – Manhattan NW, a NW style sour ale that was, until recently, a secret. It’s a blend of Blond Quad aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels on 150 pounds of sour pie cherries for five months before additionally aging on apricot noyaux for three months. Aromas of cherries, Bourbon, sweet candy and hints of spice are noticed up front. Tart cherry skins and Maraschino cherries on the palate lead to a dance of rich cherry notes that are followed by slight Bourbon sweetness. Much like the process to make fission, the steps involved here are greater than the sum of their parts. What isn’t a secret? At 11.32% ABV, you’re going to need a designated driver.
