Eel River Releases Earth Day Beer With A Portion Of The Proceeds Going To CCOF
As America’s first certified organic brewery, Eel River Brewing Company always celebrates Earth Day to raise awareness about how easy it is to become sustainable. By taking small steps as individuals, together we can make big changes.
Because of the success last year, we will brew our Earth Thirst Double IPA again in honor of Earth Day. As with all of our brews, Earth Thirst is organic and brewed sustainably (Eel River Brewing Company is 100% bio-mass powered). Brewed with over 3 pounds of hops per barrel and finishing out at 8.2% ABV, this is a strong, hoppy beer! Earth Thirst is special because all of the ingredients are organic and come from the Pacific Northwest. A few years back, it was not possible for us to get this large of a volume of high quality Cascade and Centennial organic hops in our local region.
In addition to producing a specialty beer, we wanted to work with a like-minded non-profit to help educate consumers on organics and sustainability. As with last year, a portion of the proceeds of the Earth Thirst will be donated to CCOF, California Certified Organic Farmers.
About The Beer
To celebrate Earth Day, Eel River Brewing has produced a 100% organic, 100% Pacific Northwest and 100% renewable energy brewed Double IPA.The first thing noticed when tasting this brew is the intense hop aroma. The freshness and intensity of the aroma comes from dry-hopping this beer with 3 lbs of the highest quality Pacific Northwest organic Cascade and Centennial hops per barrel.
The malt profile features Pacific Northwest organic barley, wheat and caramel malts. This blend creates a light copper color and very light malt character that accentuates the refreshing flavor of the organic hops.
Eel River Brewing will donate a portion of the proceeds to California Certified Organic Farmers.
