Eagle Rock Brewery Salvation Mountain Debuts This Month
(LOS ANGELES, CA) ‒ Eagle Rock Brewery, (ERB) is gearing up to release the fourth beer in it’s seasonal Day Trip Series of canned beers brewed and packaged with the intention to pack ‘em in and pack ‘em out. Their new gose with prickly pear, Salvation Mountain, will be released in the taproom on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, on draft and in 16 oz. 4-packs of cans.
The beer’s namesake, Salvation Mountain, can be found just east of the Salton Sea and is outsider artist Leonard Knight’s monumental tribute to God’s love. Constructed of adobe, straw, and thousands of gallons of (non-toxic) paint, the spectacular and influential art project is adorned with vivid murals and is an explosion of color set against the desert backdrop. Deemed by the Folk Art Society of America as a “folk art site worthy of preservation and protection,” the public charity Salvation Mountain, Inc. now oversees and sustains Knight’s legacy.
In support of the project and Knight’s underlying message to inspire “all people everywhere to show more love and compassion for their fellow man,” ERB will donate $1.25 per 4-pack to the progress and preservation of Salvation Mountain. Additionally, the beer will be part of the organization’s anniversary celebration honoring Knight this November.
Dedicated to, and inspired by the natural beauty surrounding L.A., ERB’s Day Trip Series (which re-launched this Spring with Mosaic Canyon) has featured a line up of beers brewed and named for an outdoor site only a short journey outside the city. As a group of outdoorsmen and women themselves, through this campaign, ERB is encouraging beer fans to get out and explore their neighboring wilderness and art monuments. Those who follow @eaglerockbrew and tag their outdoor beer can photos with #ERBDayTrip are even rewarded with taproom perks and surprises.
