Eagle Rock Brewery Public House Announces Executive Chef
We’re very pleased to announce that the Executive chef at Eagle Rock Brewery Public House is Jerry Su! We’ve referred to him on multiple occasions in the past as our “resident chef”, as he has catered a number of events at the Eagle Rock Brewery taproom. Jerry has also been seen behind the bar at the Eagle Rock Brewery taproom and is a co-founder of the Eagle Rock Brewery Public House concept, alongside sister Ting Su, and brother-in-law Jeremy Raub.
Currently a sous chef at the highly acclaimed Son of Gun restaurant, Jerry has been a gourmand since birth. First trained in the culinary arts while working in his family’s restaurants and cultivating the same love and respect for food that they experienced in their native country of Taiwan. After graduating with a B.A. in communication from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Jerry moved to Los Angeles, working as a campaign manager for a local marketing agency where despite much success, he found himself dissatisfied and hungry to return to his epicurean roots. Jerry pursued formal training at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in the heart of Napa Valley, CA where he combined his academic studies with demanding real-world experience working for Michelin star chefs Thomas Keller at Bouchon Bistro (Yountville, CA) and David Chang at Momofuku Ssäm Bar (New York, NY). While working as a chef for renowned Del Dotto Vineyards (St. Helena, CA) Jerry further refined his skill for pairing food with wine, and in 2011 he moved back to Los Angeles to assist with the daily operations of Eagle Rock Brewery and actively work on new recipes and beer-centric food pairings.
Starting a brewpub has been a long-standing goal and something that’s been a long time coming. Now that it’s really coming to fruition, we couldn’t be happier to expand upon the family business. With Jerry in charge of the food program at the pub, it’s sure to be an amazing menu and we’re all very excited to move forward with this project together!
